Got a slow start today and had to end early to make it to house church with dessert in hand . . .
Rich slogged it under the house today, pulling all the wires from the circuit that covers the old den outlets, hallway outlets, and bedroom outlets. I worked on freeing the wires from their prospective "cages" of outlets and junction boxes so the wires themselves could be pushed through little holes in the floors. My bathroom floor has no more wires in it, so I can finally start building up the floor to tile it!
He also capped the dishwasher wires under the house for right now (we think we have to run a new circuit for diswasher now) and analyzed the fubar'd situation with the ice line. Apparently, it's illegally tapped into a main supply line for the kitchen and will have to be completely re-run to go to the fridge. I can't understand how so much of this house was done wrong and still worked!!
Got tar paper up and insulation down the holes around the junction of exposed wall where addition meets kitchen, so maybe no more critters will find that area inviting enough to pursue it. Trimmed up the drywall in the bathroom so we can add that back in and get some semblance of "room" going in there. Figured out (but haven't executed yet) a finagled way of getting support up for the vanity light, since we didn't think to ask the plumber (and he didn't offer it up either) NOT to run the vent stack for the vanity up the exact center of the wall, thereby rendering a centered-placed vanity light almost impossible. Sigh. Can't think of everything, I guess.
Darron's coming tomorrow to run a gas line for the stove!!! I'll be working on various and sundry other little projects, trying to get us to the point of inspections.
On the way out, talked to the neighbor who said we "must be in our thirties" to be working this hard, cuz he heard us working pretty late last night. Guess you can hear the banging, sawing, etc. better than we realized. Told him we'll be moving in within the month, so have to get it done. (Yikes!)
Wish us luck with getting on the electrician's schedule. Rich is trying to do some things beforehand to keep the bill lower and make it go faster. We'll see if it helped!
Off to house church . . . and rest (Barbara)!
