We have 95% of all the framing done!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! CONstruction!!! If there's any deconstruction left, it's very minor, as a whole. The fun is now beginning!
Got the kitchen framed with the help of our Gimp-in-Arms . . . it was great having him there to remind us we're human and real people exist out in the world. Thanks and Kudos to him for being there for us today! And I don't want to miss thanking him for the AWESOME cheeeese (Grommit) that he brought us. It complements our tomato sandwiches quite nicely.
Had a couple of other friends drop by and see what we meant by "we're busy with the house". Maybe it will make more sense now when we say we need sleep :o) They were sweet to bring us Chocolate Ice Cream "Dove" bars as a housewarming present. How perfect!!!
After Gimpy left, we had lunch and then plowed through most of the rest of the framing that was still left. Finished the laundry room and all the nailing strips for the vanity area of the bathroom. Got our niche bases framed for the kegger and toilet paper holder. Got the doorway framed for the laundry as well.
Tomorrow is lots of much "smaller" but very important stuff . . . maybe moving the icemaker line to the other side of the kitchen, moving some wiring, maybe putting the plumbing vent into a boot and punching it through the roof, insulate around penetrations . . . that sort of stuff. Much less satisfying in the "look what we've done" department, but all very important to get us to the finish line.
We're ready now for the gas line to be plumbed for the stove, and we can probably start running electrical throughout as well. Only have a little plumbing left before we can get a rough-in inspection. This week will be heavily focused on electrical--either by us or by an electrician, whichever gets to it first based on time.
Sorry not funny today . . . too tired. All the humor was wrung out during the Murphy morning (see earlier blog from today). Got a LOT done today, though, and things are really starting to take shape!
Off to shower and eat!
