Cabinets. Cabinets. Cabinets.
Did I mention cabinets? We received them all yesterday in the afternoon and Rich and I have spent many hours on them now, assembling them to make sure there's nothing drastically wrong with any of them that would require re-ordering anything . . . It appears I may have ordered a million too many . . . or maybe not.
They're gorgeous in the fronts, by the way. Not terribly excited about their construction . . . we thought plywood construction would be better, but in their case, not necessarily. We'll see how they hold up. They sure are pretty though. And they have soft close drawers!!!!!
Got the glass mosaics for the bathroom today in the mail as well. GORGEOUS! Can't wait to start plastering all surfaces in the bath with them. Be careful visiting, because you may just leave with some pasted to your arms.
Speaking of visits, our timid neighbor Ms Tillery finally came by with Mimi's Cafe muffins. Oh my goodness! She apologized for not baking them herself. LOL. We assured her that it was fine. Very sweet lady--seems very shy. We'll have to make a point of saying hello.
Just to be clear, . . . in the 3.5 years we lived in Stepford, NOT A SINGLE PERSON ever came by to introduce themselves or welcome us to the neighborhood. So far, in the less than a month we've owned and not even been there much, we've met four different sets of neighbors, and two of them had made efforts to come by, and two brought us food already. WHAT a difference!!!
Almost got B&L to come out tonight--couldn't go out to eat with them because our reek would have overwhelmed their food and made them gag. We're wearing "Eau du mortar dust". I don't think it's a very successful odor. Hopefully B&L'll be able to come by some time soon to see the destruction, tho.
Tonight, we marveled at the bats swooping around, the fireflies, and the extreme quiet of the neighborhood. We need to get a bat box or two out there.
Back is aching, eyes are drying out; it's getting harder and harder to type, so this is it for tonight. Tomorrow morning I have a closing, and then back to the grind!
