Update January 26

We now have 3 tablecloths spread out over the new flooring to protect it until we have time to sand and stain. It looks like a bad Better Homes and Gardens design experiment. Olives painted on the floor are so cute! Everyone will be doing it by next spring.

Rich thinks that by finally covering the floor with real flooring in the kitchen, the "musty" smell of the house might finally go away, since part of it was probably coming up through the subfloor cracks where there wasn't tar paper. When someone visits again, let us know!

Meanwhile, the living room gained about 22 square feet extra with the absence of the stacked hardwood flooring in front of the fireplace. Looks odd . . . you know how you "work around" something that's in the way for so long it's become a fixture and you just deal with it? Then when you remove it, things look wrong? That's the living room. All this extra space!

We also just got another Lowe's coupon, so once I have some closings, we'll be shopping for framing and Sheetrock for the closets to come. For now, the list is piling up, and we do have lots of little projects already waiting, with materials ready to go. Just not much time.

We'll have family here for a while, so some projects will be on hold. No updates to speak of . . . just wanted to tell everyone hi! and we're still not done.
